Jenis Relative Pronouns

Ke lima contoh di atas mewakili lima dari beberapa jenis Relative Pronoun yaitu 'who', 'whom', 'whose', 'which' dan 'that'. Ke lima jenis relative pronoun tersebut akan penulis jelaskan di bawah ini:

-Whom
Sebenarnya penggunaan whom tidak biasa dalam komunikasi sehari-hari dan lebih condong ke infromal. Tapi tidak ada salahnya jika kita tahu dan menggunakannya dalam komunikasi kita. Whom sebenarnya alternatif dari penggunaan who sebagai object. Perhatikan contoh di bawah ini:

His girlfriend who I met last night is on vacation.
His girlfriend whom I met last night is on vacation.

Makna dari kedua contoh di atas sebenarnya sama. Tetapi penggunaan who pada contoh pertama lebih biasa dan formal sedangkan whom pada kalimat kedua tidak biasa digunakan dan informal.
